Chiqui Cartagena, the Managing Director
of Multicultural Communications for
Meredith Integrated Marketing, is a
Hispanic media pioneer with 20 years of
experience developing, running, and
launching some of America’s most
successful Spanish-language consumer
magazines, including People en Español,
and marketing programs like Club Musica
Latina for Columbia House.
Prior to joining Meredith Integrated
Marketing, Ms. Cartagena was the
Business Development Director for The Ad
Age Group where she was in charge of
growing the Custom Publishing unit by
developing Hispanic business for its
leading titles.
In 1996 she was part of the team that
developed and launched the Spanish
version of People magazine. People en
Español is still the most successful
Spanish-language magazine and continues
to dominate the Hispanic print market
today. She has also worked as a
consultant to Fortune 500 companies, who
want to get into the US Hispanic market.
Chiqui Cartagena lives in New York and
