Dora Casanova de Toro was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 1, 1952. She is married to Dr. Manuel A. Toro, and they have five children. She graduated from Academia San Jose de Villa Caparra in 1964. In 1970, she earned an Associates degree from University of Puerto Rico. From 1970 to 1972 she attended Colegio de Decoracion y Diseno Interior, earning an Interior Decorator Diploma. Her work experience covers a vast area of disciplines. She started working for Interior Designer/Decorator Department. Then she worked as a manager for Metro Tours in the Dominican Republic. In 1981, she became the Chief Editor for La Prensa Newspaper in Longwood Florida. Today, she is the CEO/ Publisher for La Prensa. Mrs. Dora Casanova de Toro has received various awards.
