Edgar
Mejia currently serves as
Chief Creative Officer for
Conexion, a Los Angeles-based
marketing and sales firm
specializing in the business-to-business
market, with a key emphasis on
the Latino business community.
In this
role, Mr. Mejia oversees the
creative processes, development
and direction of the company,
and is responsible for forming
synergetic relationships between
the business community and
multinational conglomerates
entering the multicultural
business market.
Prior to
his current position, Mr. Mejia
served as Executive Director of
the Latin Business Association (LBA),
a 501(c)(3) non-profit. In this
role, Mr. Mejia developed the
LBA’s strategy, oversaw member
acquisition, marketing, media
relations, the LBA Sol Awards,
the National Latino Business
Expo, and managed day-to-day
operations, including a multi-million
dollar budget.
During his
tenure at LBA, Mr. Mejia served
as Marketing Director, and
Corporate Relations Director,
where he was responsible for the
nationwide and Latin America
expansion of the association and
its sister organization, the LBA
Institute, a 501(c)(6) non-profit.
Previous
to joining the LBA in August
1999, Mr. Mejia served as
Marketing and Program Manager
for the Los Angeles Area Chamber
of Commerce, where he was
responsible for the
organization’s small business
program development, new member
acquisition, promotions and
member retention activities,
including small business
advocacy programs at city and
state levels.
Mr. Mejia
has held various general
management positions, including
Graphic Design Director with the
LA Area Chamber of Commerce, and
Game-day Publicist for the Los
Angeles Galaxy (Major League
Soccer). Before joining the LA
Area Chamber of Commerce, Mr.
Mejia served as President of
Westcoast Design, a graphic
design firm where he was also a
managing partner.
Mr. Mejia
holds a Bachelors degree in
Communications, and a
Presidential Key Executive MBA
from the Graziadio School of
Business at Pepperdine
University. He also has
successfully completed two
executive extension programs at
the Anderson School of Business
at the University of California,
Los Angeles.
Mr. Mejia lives in Alhambra
California and is an avid
triathlete.
