the 2007 LATINA Style
Business Series in McAllen,
Texas on Friday, February 23,
2007 at the Renaissance Casa del
Palmas Hotel (101 N. Main Street).
The LATINA Style Business
Series is the most successful
business development conference
that seeks to empower Latina
professionals and business
owners by bringing them together
with key corporations and
agencies that provide goods,
services and essential
information most needed by
today’s entrepreneur.
The Business Series starts at
8:00 am and concludes at 4:00 pm.
In the morning the audience will
be welcomed by The Honorable
Richard Cortez, Mayor of McAllen.
The event includes exhibits and
expert presenters from sponsors
ExxonMobil, IBM Corporation,
McDonald’s, Office Depot, State
Farm Insurance, and
UnitedHealthcare.
The luncheon emcee, Letty Garza
of KRGV will be introducing
keynote speaker Maria Marin, an
international renowned expert in
negotiation training, newspaper
columnist, radio talk show host,
and the author of the audio book,
Secretos de La Mujer Segura (“Secrets
of a Confident Woman”). Her
confidence-building seminars are
known for empowering women to
find their inner strength and
believe in themselves. Marin
will address the audience at the
Latina Entrepreneur Award
Luncheon, followed by the Latina
Entrepreneur Award recipient
Zenia Marroquin with Little
Green Apples Inc.
Zenia Marroquin, President,
Little Green Apples Inc. will be
honored with the “Latina
Entrepreneur of the Year” award
in McAllen at the end of the
luncheon. Since establishing her
business in 2001, Ms. Marroquin
has successfully grown the
company with sales over $500,000
and 90 employees. In addition,
Little Green Apples Inc. will be
moving into their brand new
facility. Being an entrepreneur
in a field that she loves, Ms.
Marroquin has positioned herself
and her company to take
advantage of the Rio Grande
Valley’s tremendous economic
growth. More importantly, though,
is her business philosophy:
Approach everything you do with
honesty and integrity, and
always keep your target market
in mind – in her case, children.
“The emergence of the Latina
entrepreneur as a catalyst for
prosperity is a welcome change
in our community. Latinas are
starting and succeeding in
business all across the
country,” says Robert E. Bard,
president, LATINA Style
Magazine. “Latinas are outpacing
all other business startups
three to one.”
Registration fee includes
seminars, high power networking
opportunities in the exhibit
area, breakfast, lunch,
commemorative gift bag and a two-year
subscription to LATINA Style
Magazine, for a tremendous value
