Zoraida
Sambolin is the co-anchor of
the weekend edition of NBC5 News
Today. She is also a special
assignment reporter and fill-in
news anchor for Telemundo
Chicago.
Until recently, Zoraida Sambolin
and Art Norman co-anchored
NBC5's 11 a.m. weekday news.
Zorida Sambolin joined the NBC5
News team in the summer of 2002.
Before coming to NBC5, Sambolin
was the creator and Emmy award-winning
host of "Small Talk for Parents"
on WYCC-TV and "Nuestros Ninos"
on WSNS-TV from 1999 to 2002.
These series covered a wide
range of topics specifically of
interest to those with children
from birth to age eight. They
included the latest research in
early childhood issues, current
trends in education, childcare,
health, safety and expert advice.
Prior to Sambolin's hosting
duties, she was the director of
broadcasting for the Chicago
City Colleges.
A Chicago native, Sambolin
attended Loyola University, and
is bilingual. She is married
with two children and lives in
Chicago.
