LATINA Entrepreneur of the year

Graciela Tiscareño-Sato is a multi-faceted, passion-driven professional.

Graciela is a UC Berkeley-educated military aviator and veteran. You may know her as an educational advocate for children with special needs and their parents, an active mentor to Latino youth, a perceptive marketing and PR professional, a collaboration technology expert, a speaker at educational conferences, or an insatiable writer on topics ranging from business, technology, parenting, disability rights and leadership.

She excels at empowering others with knowledge and in creating excellent content for a wide variety of audiences and purposes. Her thought-leadership work has published in the U.S. and Europe including Environmental Leader, NSHMBA’s magazine Hispanic MBA, SOA World Magazine, destinationCRM, Communications News, Enterprise Technology Management, Internet Telephony Magazine and many others. www.gracetiscareno-sato.com is the depository of her work.

Graciela is currently preparing three manuscripts for publication. The first is her four-continent memoirs of her decade serving as an Air Force officer and navigator on the KC-135 refueling jet. The second is a showcase of American Latino innovators who are creating sustainable businesses, processes and technologies to power the nascent green economy. The third is a children’s book that stars a Latina military servicewoman showing her child the meaning of service using the colorful patches of her flight suit.

Graciela has created two enterprises to channel her passions. Gracefully Global is a marketing excellence firm with multicultural savvy and deep insight into the software and communications industry. In this role, Graciela continues to use her product, strategic, and green enterprise marketing expertise gained while leading global product launches for Munich-based Siemens Enterprise Networks.

Her second firm is Tiscareño-Sato Advocacy Services. In this capacity, Graciela holds seminars for parents, early intervention service providers and educators involved in raising and teaching children with special needs. She empowers these communities with knowledge of special education law and how to exercise their rights. She coaches parents to improve the advocacy and negotiation skills needed to secure specialized services from their school districts. The result is children with disabilities getting the individualized education guaranteed to them under federal law.

Graciela is fluent in English and Spanish. She is proud to be an alumna of U.C. Berkeley; she’s even more proud of her Masters degree in International Management that she somehow completed despite deploying all over the globe during her military career.

Graciela lives in the San Francisco East Bay with her husband and three inquisitive, musically-inclined children.
