Norma Garcia describes her career in the field of broadcasting as a childhood dream come true. Her exciting journey begun almost 20 years ago in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, where she was born and raised. She began her career in Spanish radio and later made the switch to television becoming one of the most successful and recognized news anchors in the Hispanic market. Her interest in keeping the community well informed has taken her anchoring skills to major cities like Chicago, Houston and most currently Dallas.
Her passion and dedication have led her to cover major news events around the world. From the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, to the 25th anniversary of Pope John Paul II in Rome, to the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina, just to name a few.
Norma Garcia is currently the afternoon and evening anchor for Noticiero Telemundo Dallas. The NATAS chapters in Texas and Arizona have recognized her talent on-air as well as her reporting skills with four Emmy Awards.
Norma believes that a combination of preparation and perseverance is the key to success and is a motto that she applies to her life on a daily basis. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting from the University of Texas at El Paso.
