Elke Weil was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the youngest of three daughters. Her father was a native of Ohio while her mother was from the Dominican Republic. Her parents met in Puerto Rico in the early 70’s and later moved the whole family to NC in 1997. She began her freshman year at William G. Enloe High School and graduated in 2001. Elke worked a local Marriott Hotel for 7-8 years while attending Wake Technical Community College. She later attained her Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management from North Carolina State University. She began her career with Nationwide Insurance in April 2011 as a Bilingual Claims Adjuster working for the Diverse Market Team where she has been able to serve the Spanish speaking community of North Carolina directly. She has provided leadership and assistance with many Latino oriented company initiatives and events that serve to represent Nationwide as a responsible corporate citizen and sponsor of the Hispanic community. She has also worked closely with the Nationwide’s regional marketing and sales teams in events serving the local Latino community.
